Title and Summary

Senior Specialist, Product Management (Data Analytics)

Overview

  1. Acts as a business owner and manages long-term and short-term strategic initiatives for a commercialized product.
  2. Oversees product evolution, establishes go-to-market strategy, optimizes products and resources, implements incremental improvements within the product’s life cycle, conducts ongoing care and maintenance, and manages P&L.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop understanding of end-to-end product lifecycle (e.g., Studio framework), actively works to improve experience and skills.
  2. Drive product development focusing on customer journey and experience.
  3. Prepare launches and monitor product performance, adoption, and operational health.
  4. Review information on competitors’ product offerings, business models, and technology innovations regularly and share findings.
  5. Identify opportunities to improve overall product lifecycle processes.
  6. Listen, observe and understand senior management and cross-functional team perspectives; ask effective questions to clarify understanding.
  7. Use customer needs, research, user studies, metrics, and competitive analysis to document business and product requirements and inform the backlog.
  8. Display judgment to know when to escalate issues and liaise with cross-functional teams for resolution.
  9. Support and participate in post-launch reviews and ensure feedback is reincorporated into enhancements.
  10. Own and manage product documentation ensuring it is clear and easily consumable by product, cross-functional and engineering teams.
  11. Stay aligned with GTM plans for the product set.
  12. Report status and manage risks within their primary product team.
  13. Take initiative and actively seek and participate in activities which stretch existing skill set.
  14. Participate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business management.
  15. Mentor and guide new and less-experienced team members.
  16. Assist with candidate selection and onboarding.
  17. Share and seek knowledge within the Guild/Product to drive reuse of best practices and enhance productivity.

Experiences

  1. Experience reviewing data reports and developing preliminary product enhancement recommendations.
  2. Helped develop and manage a product or project budget/P&Ls.
  3. Demonstrated consistent success working with partners across other functions in support of product go-to market strategies.
  4. Fully learn the business requirements and associated use cases.
  5. Understand and can explain the product set to cross-functional and senior managers.
  6. Recognize discordant views and take part in constructive dialog to resolve them.
  7. Verbal and written communication is clear and concise.
  8. Improve team processes that accelerate product development, delivery, drive innovation, lower costs, and improve quality.
  9. Skills in test driven and behavior driven development.
  10. Understand customer journeys and ensure a Mastercard good experience by continuously reducing Mean time to mitigate (MTTM) for incidents and ensuring high availability.

Education/Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree or appropriate relevant experience required.
  2. Knowledge of the marketplace and clients’ needs.
  3. P&L exposure.
  4. Strong experience working with data analysis (Power BI, Excel, Power Point).
  5. Significant experience (3-5 years) in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Vendor Management, Bankcards/Fee Services, Financial Services/Retail Banking, General banking industry/Payments, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service.
