Purpose of the Position

The Medior Tax Analyst will support the tax function in compliance and advisory roles while gaining hands-on experience in various tax matters. To guarantee all tax requirements are being properly and timely covered according to Brazilian legislation. To identify and mitigate risks caused by internal and external changes due to changes in the market.

This position will focus on preparing tax returns, assisting in tax audits, and supporting the implementation of tax strategies. The Medior Tax Analyst will work closely with senior tax professionals and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely tax obligations are met.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting to calculate the Transfer pricing, cross charging costs, royalties according to OECD rules
  • Supporting to calculate the income tax as well as deferred tax
  • Responsible to reconcile tax accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Responsible to calculate and deliver the ancillary obligation to guarantee Direct tax compliance to local authorities
  • Acts as single point of contact between business and financial control
  • Implementing projects (SAP, Tax tools, KPIs, new tax calculation, etc.)
  • Supporting internal and external audits to obtain clean opinions
  • Assist in the preparation and review of tax returns and compliance documentation
  • Support tax audits by gathering necessary documentation and information
  • Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to assist in compliance efforts
  • Assist in implementing tax strategies and processes to optimize tax efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tax guidance on business operations
  • Maintain accurate tax records and documentation to support compliance
  • Monitor updates in tax legislation and assess their implications
  • Provide support in Transfer Pricing calculations as needed

Impact of the Position

The Medior Tax Analyst leads the right tax calculation for indirect and direct tax, ancillary obligation, and transfer pricing to avoid penalties and reputational issues with the Brazilian government. The Medior Tax Analyst plays a supportive role within the tax function that contributes to maintaining compliance and optimizing the company's tax position. By assisting in various tax processes and collaborating with teams, the analyst helps ensure the organization's financial integrity and regulatory adherence.

Working Relationships

  • Internal relationships will be with internal stakeholders (HR, Operations, Supply Chain, IT, Accounting, Treasury, procurement, legal, production, global tax team, and others)
  • External relationships will include consultant companies, audit, customer agents, Senior Tax Professionals, Cross-functional Teams, and External Tax Advisors

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in tax compliance or related roles
  • Basic understanding of tax laws and regulations
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • The ability to read, speak, and write fluently in English (additional languages are a plus)
