Role
The LATAM FX Trader will be responsible for growing, managing and optimising foreign exchange (FX) trading activities for the Latin American region.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of FX markets, established relationships with banks and liquidity providers, strong analytical skills, and the ability to execute trades efficiently. Fluency in English, Portuguese and Spanish is essential to effectively communicate and negotiate with stakeholders across the region.
Responsibilities
- Trading Execution: Execute FX trades on behalf of the company, ensuring optimal pricing and efficient capital allocation.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of Taptap Send’s growing LATAM business, working with growth and country teams to optimise FX sourcing and working capital efficiency.
- Relationship Management & Network Expansion: Build and maintain strong relationships with local banks, liquidity providers, and other key market participants.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in FX trading or FICC sales, with a focus on Latin American currencies.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. Advanced certifications or degrees (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
- Languages: Fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, both written and spoken.
- Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficiency in trading platforms and tools, and a solid understanding of FX market dynamics.
- Attributes: High level of attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
